Marketing for independent film
The money is set aside before anyone posts.
A production puts a fixed pool behind their film. Creators take a slot, post about it, and are paid $2.00 per 1,000 verified views. The pool cannot shrink, every creator can see what is held in their name, and every number the production gets back opens the post it came from.
How it works
Four moves, and the money is visible at every one
The pool is funded
A production commits a fixed amount — $300 minimum — split across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. It locks. It cannot be topped up, quietly reduced, or clawed back.
A slot is held
The production approves a creator, and $50 is set aside in that person's name for seven days. Nobody else can take it, the creator can see it before doing any work — and if their post earns more, the hold grows to match.
The post is checked
Six checks, by a person, on every submission. Disclosure, caption, the post staying live, the numbers, and whether the film is actually in the post.
The report is auditable
Not a summary. A list where every figure opens the live post it came from, and says whether the number was read from the platform or from the creator.
Two sides
Whichever side you are on, the same thing is wrong with the alternatives
Creators are asked to trust a number they cannot predict. Productions are asked to trust a statement they cannot check. HALO is built around the fact that those are the same problem.
If you have a film
You will be able to check every number we give you
- You approve every creator. Nobody posts about your film without you saying yes.
- You see the pool draw down live — what is paid, what is held, what is left, per platform.
- Every post carries a paid-partnership label. All of them. That is a check, not a hope.
- The fee is 26%, charged on top. It covers everything, including moving the money — so every cent of the pool you fund reaches creators.
- If a campaign is not working, you hear it from us before you work it out yourself.
If you post about film
You will always know why the number is the number
- $2.00 per 1,000 verified views, with no ceiling. Published, not negotiated.
- The money is held before you post. $50, in your name — a floor, not a ceiling. Earn more and the hold grows with you.
- Every rejection names the check it failed and what to do about it. Never a bare no.
- No leaderboards. We never show another creator what you earn, or you what they earn.
- Cash out at $20. You can see exactly how far away that is, always.
The numbers that do not move
Published, so nobody has to ask
Being straight about it
What HALO does not do
A short list, because in this category the omissions are usually where the trouble is.
We do not promise your film gets into festivals. Programmers tell us plainly that a social following is, at most, a tiebreaker between two otherwise equal films. What a campaign can honestly show a programmer or a sales agent is that you will actively help promote a screening — which is a real thing they care about, and a much smaller claim than the one you will hear elsewhere.
We do not lead with view counts. A view is one second of autoplay. Anyone in acquisitions knows that, and a report headed with a big number gets discounted by exactly the person you wanted to impress. We put disclosure compliance, distinct creators, comments and shares first — and views last, as context.
We do not tell creators what to say about your film. We require the disclosure, the caption tag and that the film is genuinely in the post. We do not require, or accept, instructions about the opinion.
We do not pay for views we cannot verify. Six checks, all of them, every time. No partial credit, and the reasons are always given.
